Rhetoric Rides Again - Thomas Sowell - Townhall Conservative

Rhetoric Rides Again - Thomas Sowell - Townhall Conservative: "First of all, nobody's taxes-- whether rich or poor-- is going to be cut in this lame duck session of Congress. The only real issue is whether our current tax rates will go up in January, whether for everybody or nobody or somewhere in between."

A Death By A Thousand Cuts | RedState

A Death By A Thousand Cuts | RedState: "The purpose of a union’s corporate campaign is simple: To bring the targeted employer to its knees in order to unionize it, to agree to a contract favorable to the union, or to settle a labor dispute. The most common purpose of a union’s corporate campaign, however, is to unionize an employer. Whether it is through shaming an employer through negative publicity, or costing it huge sums of money defending itself from an onslaught of litigation (or both), the goal of the corporate campaign is to bring a ‘death by a thousand cuts’ upon the employer until it gives in."

Big Wind looking for federal handout. | RedState

Big Wind looking for federal handout. | RedState: "The wind ‘industry’ is apparently looking for more federal aid - actually, no, there’s nothing apparent about it. They want more federal aid, they want it permanently - and they want it specifically allocated to them, and not as part of a nebulous ‘alternate energy’ package. Otherwise, they’re afraid that they’ll go out of business. For the record: if your business plan requires - not benefits from; requires - an annual bailout from the federal government in order to function, then by definition you have a bad business plan. Mostly because you are not actually in business; you are a parasite pretending to be a business. I understand that this point has been obscured since the Democrats took Congress in 2007, but it bears repeating. A lot of repeating."
